The Elite Tungsten is a reference open-back headphone built around the MZ3SE planar magnetic driver using Rinaro Isodynamic Hybrid Array® technology. The driver has an ovoid shape measuring 102 × 73 mm with an active area of 4,650 mm², allowing the magnetic field distribution to be matched to the anatomy of the ear. The circumaural fit combined with the open acoustic principle contributes to natural decay and a spatial perception of the recording.
At the heart of the design is the Rinaro Parus® [MZ3SE] diaphragm weighing 0.11 g with an acoustic mass of 7.5 kg/m⁴. The extremely low mass of the vibrating assembly shortens rise and decay times, which shows in the intelligibility of fast and complex passages. The driver chassis is made of glass-fibre reinforced polymer; the total driver weight is 75 g and the headphones weigh 433 g. The signal is fed via a pair of 4-pin mini-XLR connectors.
An impedance of 32 Ω and a sensitivity of 101 dB SPL/mW at 1 kHz mean the headphones place no extraordinary demands on the amplifier's output stage and can be driven by a wide range of sources. A frequency range of 3 Hz – 112 kHz, maximum sound pressure above 130 dB and harmonic distortion below 0.05 % lay the groundwork for a dynamically uncompressed presentation with low coloration and stable localisation of instruments within the stereo image.
The package includes angled Alcantara earpads and hybrid earpads with a perforated Alcantara interior and genuine leather exterior, which allow subtle changes to the acoustic tuning and to comfort during longer listening sessions. Also supplied is a silver-plated PCUHD cable terminated from mini-XLR to a 6.3 mm jack, plus a carrying case made of high-strength ABS plastic with foam inserts and a leather handle.

Meze Audio was founded in 2011 by industrial designer Antonio Meze in the Romanian city of Baia Mare. Today, it is one of the world’s most highly regarded brands of high-end headphones. Meze combines timeless design, precision engineering and a focus on the emotional impact of music. The headphones are designed to last for years – both physically and in terms of their ability to connect with the listener. It draws inspiration from Romania’s cultural heritage and the idea of living in the moment to the full, so that each pair of headphones is a meaningful object rather than merely a piece of technology.
The portfolio includes both planar magnetic and dynamic headphones, open-back and closed-back models, and premium in-ear monitors. The flagship headphones utilise the Isodynamic Hybrid Array driver, developed in collaboration with Rinaro Isodynamics, which delivers exceptional clarity, spatial depth and comfort even during long listening sessions. Meze also offers planar technology in a closed, portable design, whilst the dynamic models with hand-crafted wooden ear cups impress with their natural, warm and musical sound at a more affordable price. The range is complemented by ear pads, upgrade cables and accessories, allowing everyone to customise the comfort, look and sound to suit their own preferences.
