ALBA are entry-level in-ear monitors (IEMs) from the Romanian brand Meze Audio, built around a single 10.8 mm dynamic driver. The tuning is based on a neutral profile with a slightly warmer character, which keeps the presentation легible even during longer listening sessions. With an impedance of 32 Ω and sensitivity of 109 dB SPL/mW at 1 kHz, this is a load that any mobile source will handle with ease, while the 15 Hz – 25 kHz frequency range and harmonic distortion below 0.1 % at 1 kHz confirm the technical purity of the conversion.
The construction follows the Meze Audio design language: the body combines zinc alloy with anodised aluminium parts, which contributes to mechanical durability as well as a low weight of 14 g per earphone. The iridescent finish complements the ergonomic shape that improves passive isolation from ambient noise. The signal is carried by a braided SPC cable 1.2 m long, terminated with a gold-plated 3.5 mm plug, and the detachable 2-pin connector allows the cable to be swapped later on.
The package includes a dedicated 3.5 mm to USB-C adapter with a built-in DAC/AMP, which solves connection to devices without an analogue output while also taking care of conversion and signal amplification. The adapter is made from the same materials as the cable and features an LED indicating a correct connection. Silicone tips in four sizes (S, M, L, XL) optimise the seal in the ear canal, which directly determines bass reproduction and the stability of the stereo image. An eco-leather case is provided for carrying.
