The Rockna Wavedream DAC is a flagship software-defined digital-to-analog converter built on an FPGA-based digital engine, allowing the device hardware and algorithms to evolve via firmware updates. At its core is the Femtovox clock system, synthesizing the master clock directly at the DAC input to achieve an ultra-low jitter of 300 femtoseconds and 1 ppb accuracy. Featuring 58 DSP blocks executing custom Parks-McClellan 16x upsampling filters, discrete sign-magnitude R2R ladder DAC modules (RD-0 for Signature, RD-1 for Edition), a fully discrete Class-A JFET/bipolar analog output stage, and a 20-stage linear power supply driven by three custom transformers, the Wavedream delivers unmatched transparency, low noise, and organic sound reproduction.
