Description
The Kuzma XL AIR is a state-of-the-art reference turntable that upgrades the Stabi XL DC platform by incorporating a high-pressure air bearing and a massive 44 kg dual-platter system. By replacing conventional mechanical bearings with a porous carbon air bearing (operating at 4 bar pressure with a 5-micron gap), it achieves zero friction and eliminates noise transfer to the cartridge. The rotating mass combines the 22 kg aluminum-acrylic sandwich platter of the XL DC with a 22 kg cast bronze lower platter, creating unparalleled inertia that renders the drive immune to cartridge stylus drag. The air bearing shaft (31mm) and thrust plate (60mm) are anchored in a heavy, two-piece solid brass base for ultimate structural damping. Powered by an external air supply featuring a Model 50D compressor and filtration system, the XL AIR delivers unshakeable rotational stability, dead-silent backgrounds, and extraordinary dynamic resolution (existing Stabi XL DC turntables can be upgraded to full XL AIR specification via an optional kit).
