Description

The Ypsilon PST-100 Mk2 is a flagship tube preamplifier engineered around custom-wound, 31-tap transformer attenuators rather than conventional resistor networks to achieve ultimate signal purity and micro-detail retention. Its active gain stage utilizes a single-ended, zero-feedback Siemens C3m pentode (triode-connected) coupled via a custom output transformer, providing 16 dB of gain with a maximum output impedance of 150 ohms. The external-grade power supply employs 6CA4 tube rectification and choke filtering, while all internal connections are point-to-point hand-wired using proprietary pure silver wire. The transformer attenuator is positioned after the valve stage to preserve dynamic expression, and a passive version (PST-100 TA) is available for systems requiring no active gain.
