Description

The Ypsilon DAC1000 and DAC1000SE are reference-grade non-oversampling (NOS) digital-to-analog converters featuring a proprietary, discrete R2R ladder architecture for PCM and native DSD256 conversion without digital filtering. Built with six digital inputs—including isolated USB, I2S via HDMI, Coax, BNC, AES, and Optical—the DAC1000 uses high-tolerance Vishay metal film resistors, while the SE version upgrades to custom naked-foil resistors. The DSD pipeline utilizes a dedicated transformer/inductor filter network connected to a remapped AKM output stage. The single-ended analog output stage employs a triode-connected Siemens tube per channel, wire-capacitor coupled to the R2R network, and transformer-coupled to the output for a 30-ohm output impedance, backed by a tube-rectified, choke-filtered power supply.
