The ATM-2Plus is a comprehensive renovation of the original ATM-2 from 1988, which remained a cornerstone of the Air Tight lineup for over 30 years. While maintaining the legendary aesthetic, the ATM-2Plus features a completely new internal design. Leveraging 30 years of technical expertise, Air Tight has redefined the KT-88 push-pull configuration to ensure stable operation, extended tube life, and a damping factor optimized for contemporary loudspeakers.

Key Technological Features

• Circuit Redesign: Incorporation of 6CG7/6FQ7 tubes for the 1st and 2nd amplification stages, providing greater power and lower distortion than the original 12AU7. Redesigned Negative Feedback (NFB) optimizes damping factors for modern speaker loads.
• Transformers: Equipped with new Tamura 100W-class large output transformers to ensure surplus power and authority in the low frequencies. The power transformer is custom hand-wound and paper-wrapped by Japanese craftsmen for a clearer, more expansive soundstage.
• Reliability and Protection: Focused on lowering plate voltage to enhance the longevity of modern KT-88/6550 tubes while maintaining output power. Integrated fast-breaking fuses protect the amplifier from potential output tube failures.
• Craftsmanship: Consistent with Air Tight tradition, no printed circuit boards (PCBs) are used; all wiring and assembly are performed by hand (point-to-point) at the factory in Takatsuki, Osaka. The chassis utilizes stud-boss construction to hide fasteners and ensure firm frame grounding.
