Description
The MOON 861 is a reference dual-mono stereo power amplifier designed to deliver 300 Watts per channel into 8 Ohms and 600 Watts into 4 Ohms with exceptional authority. Built using MOON Distortion-Cancelling Amplifier (MDCA) topology, it achieves an ultra-low THD+N specification of 0.001% without adding coloration. The robust power supply features dual 1500 VA custom low-noise toroidal transformers and 228,000 µF of capacitance, providing massive dynamic headroom and high damping factor control over complex speaker loads. Its chassis incorporates side-mounted heatsinks, reinforced magnetic shielding, and physical separation of analog circuits to minimize interference. Equipped with RCA and XLR inputs, a stereo/bridgeable mono selector, and MOONLink system integration, the 861 provides a silent, transparent foundation for high-resolution audio systems.
