Rejecting the typical compromise of multi-function circuitry, the 331 takes the strict audiophile route by housing entirely separate, dedicated circuits for its preamplifier and power amplifier sections. The preamplifier boasts a phenomenal 2 MHz bandwidth that virtually eliminates phase errors, paired with an ingenious 80-step dual-path volume control using relay-switched fixed metal foil resistors for click-free precision. The power section, derived from the acclaimed Series 5, is fueled by four cutting-edge switched-mode power supplies delivering 1,200 VA of continuous power and a massive 4,200 VA peak output. For ultimate versatility, this music machine can be equipped with an optional high-precision RIAA Phono MC module and a reference-grade DAC featuring zeroPhase processing and Leedh digital volume control.
