Vesper 3 is a three-way passive floorstanding loudspeaker belonging to the YG Acoustics Reference line, intended for demanding two-channel systems in real living spaces. It builds on the Carmel 3 model and its concept of reference-grade performance in compact dimensions, while adding another way, greater dynamic range and a deeper bass foundation. It is the result of a three-year development programme based on extensive research and simulations, subsequently verified by listening.
The driver complement consists of a 26 mm YG Lattice hybrid tweeter, an 18.5 cm midrange driver with a proprietary YG aluminium diaphragm and a neodymium motor, and a 22 cm bass driver with an exceptionally high flux-density motor. All diaphragms are made in-house and the motor systems are designed with an emphasis on low distortion across the entire operating range. The cabinet dimensions of 107 × 27 × 40 cm and a weight of 71 kg apiece reflect a massive, resonance-stable construction.
The connecting link is the third generation of the Ultracoherent crossover with crossover points at 92 Hz and 1.71 kHz, optimised simultaneously for frequency response, phase alignment, phase slope and transient response. The result is relative phase within ±5° wherever driver output falls within a 20 dB window. The circuit employs custom capacitors including pure metal-foil types, bifilar-wound resistors, damped Litz coils and an anti-resonant PCB with a low dielectric constant and dissipation factor; the circuit layout is computationally optimised to minimise interaction between components. Some of the know-how comes from the Titan research programme.
Usable response extends from 30 Hz to 40 kHz with very low distortion and precise unit matching. A sensitivity of 88 dB and an average impedance of 4 Ω with a 2.8 Ω minimum call for an amplifier with a stable current delivery. The crossover's rigorous phase coherence translates into a wide and deep soundstage with precise instrument localisation, while the bass driver with its powerful motor contributes authority and dynamics without compression. Fine detail remains legible even in the loudest passages, and the perceived scale of the sound exceeds the speaker's physical dimensions.

The American company YG Acoustics, founded in 2002, is one of the world’s most highly regarded brands in the category of ultimate high-end loudspeakers. The brand has made a name for itself through its uncompromising combination of computational modelling, cutting-edge science and precision engineering. Unlike most manufacturers, it rejects outsourcing and mass production – it operates its own state-of-the-art CNC facility in Colorado, where it manufactures chassis, its own drivers and the vast majority of precision components from solid blocks of aerospace-grade aluminium. YG Acoustics’ aim is to recreate the magical atmosphere and emotion of a live performance with absolute phase and frequency accuracy.
At the heart of YG Acoustics’ loudspeakers lie unique technologies developed in-house. The patented DualCoherent™ crossovers are the only ones in the world to optimise both a flat frequency response and zero relative phase simultaneously. The drivers utilise BilletCore™ technology for bass and midrange cones milled from a single piece of aluminium, and ForgeCore™ magnetic motors for the tweeters, whilst maintaining zero distortion. The clarity of the sound is complemented by ToroAir™ air dampers to eliminate crosstalk, and the FocusedElimination™ internal design, which removes standing waves without dynamic loss. YG Acoustics loudspeakers are designed for the most discerning listeners who demand absolute transparency, surgical precision and natural musicality without any ‘boxy’ colouration.
