The Stage III Concepts Trydent is a high-current AC power cable derived from the A.S.P. Kraken design family, bringing the current capacity and signal purity of the A.S.P. Triton into a more compact and more affordable execution. At its core are four large-gauge AeroStrand pure silver ribbon conductors, cryogenically treated and slowly extruded to order. They run in an air dielectric with PTFE Teflon air tubes, which minimise contact between the conductor and any solid insulation.
Noise rejection is handled by the three-stage TriSilencer shielding system: full-coverage plated copper, a Mylar layer and a braid of conductive carbonised nylon. The multi-layer construction is complemented by a damping layer based on silicate, ceramic and ferrite, which works both mechanically and electromagnetically. This solution reduces microphony caused by conductor vibration and suppresses EMI/RFI interference entering the power line.
The cable is terminated with reference Hyperion AC and IEC connectors featuring hand-woven carbon fibre shells and an exclusive polymer, developed specifically for this model. Current handling reaches up to 30 A, allowing power amplifiers with high peak demands to be fed without limiting dynamics. The low noise floor and stable current delivery translate into better resolution of microdetail, more precise instrument localisation and a more controlled bass region.
