The Stage III Concepts A.S.P. Triton is a reference-class AC power cable that brings the design principles of the flagship Kraken into a more flexible and compact form. At its core is a quartet of solid AeroStrand Ultra ribbon conductors made from a silver-palladium alloy, suspended in an air dielectric with a current capacity exceeding 30 amperes. The cable is intended to power any high-quality audio component — from sources and converters to power amplifiers with high current demands.
The conductors are custom slow-extruded and cryogenically treated, with the air dielectric formed by FEP Teflon tubes. Each conductor, together with two silver-plated ground conductors, has its own silver-plated braid shield, complemented by a 100% impervious H.D.A. foil layer. The multi-layer construction includes a damping and shielding layer of silicate, ceramic and ferrite, combining electromagnetic protection with mechanical resonance damping.
Termination is handled by exclusive Hyperion connectors with ceramic bodies and silver-copper alloy contacts, palladium-plated and cryogenically treated. The polymer-filled carbon fibre housings are made by hand and limit the transfer of external vibration to the contact surface, reducing microphony. This combination of shielding, damping and low-impedance current transfer results in a markedly lower noise floor, more legible detail in decays and more stable dynamics during sharp current peaks.
Triton is built entirely by hand in the USA, with no off-the-shelf parts. Compared to the Kraken it is a slightly scaled-down version sharing the same technological foundation, offering greater flexibility for rack installation and a more accessible price level, with no compromise in materials.
