The SuperHUB MK2 is a multifunctional network streamer and digital hub that unifies various digital sources in a single unit and sends the conditioned data stream to an external DAC. All processing takes place purely in the digital domain — including reclocking and upsampling (transcoding) — handled by dedicated FPGA audio hardware complemented by a high-quality programmable clocking circuit. Playback is managed by a lightweight proprietary Linux-based system with support for Roon, UPnP, DLNA and OpenHome.

At the heart of the device sits an AMD ZYNQ 7000 series SoC, integrating hardware and software operations on a single chip. Unlike solutions built around Raspberry Pi or off-the-shelf modules, the SuperHUB is based on an exclusive Audiobyte platform: a new mainboard with a 10-layer PCB was designed specifically for this unit, allowing the signal path to be fully optimised. Combined with a linear power supply, this creates a seamless interplay between the audio circuitry and the computing section, free from the typical interference that ordinary computers introduce into a system.

All inputs, above all the classic SPDIF and AES/EBU interfaces, benefit from a digital phase-locked loop (PLL) with buffer stages. This proprietary solution reduces incoming jitter by up to 60 dB, stabilising the signal's time axis before it is passed on to the converter. The result is more precise imaging of instruments, clearer micro-detail and a smooth, uninterrupted musical flow. Powerful PCM-to-DSD upsampling at high sample rates runs directly in the FPGA, so a computer in the chain is no longer needed.

The chassis is machined from a single block of aluminium, delivering high structural rigidity, effective heat dissipation and vibration resistance with a minimum of joints and seams. The surface is sandblasted before anodising. Control is provided by a 3-inch capacitive IPS display with a wide viewing angle plus apps for Android and iOS. Connectivity includes Ethernet RJ45, USB type B and A, AES/EBU, Toslink and coaxial SPDIF inputs, I2S over HDMI and coaxial SPDIF outputs; network support covers NFS and SMB v1–v3.
