Power Distributor Wadax Studio Transport

Wadax Studio Transport – a dedicated CD/SACD transport with the Akasa optical link

Studio Transport is a dedicated transport for CD and SACD that expands the Studio Collection with a standalone digital source. Its design draws on technologies derived from the Wadax Reference Transport, the brand's flagship model, bringing them into a more accessible yet technically related platform. The package includes the Akasa optical link, intended for connection to the Studio DAC.

At the heart of the player is the THORstudio optical reading mechanism with DWC technology, developed to transfer Wadax's experience with reading digital discs into the Studio collection. Separating the transport and the converter into individual chassis matches the architecture of the Studio DAC Collection, which is conceived as a flexible and scalable solution – allowing the user to build a digital chain in stages.

Transferring data via the Akasa optical link instead of a conventional electrical interface reduces mutual electrical interaction between the transport and the converter. Combined with the precise mechanism, this contributes to a more stable data flow and to a reproduction the manufacturer describes as more accurate and more realistic. According to founder and CEO Javier Guadalajara, the goal of the collection is to show that uncompromisingly applied digital technology can bring the listener closer to the essence of music.
