A complete MOON Ace and Voice 22 system: streaming, DAC, phono and speakers from a single source

The complete MOON system Ace | Voice 22 combines the all-in-one MOON Ace streaming amplifier with a pair of MOON Voice 22 standmount speakers to form a coherent hi-fi chain. A single compact chassis houses a network player, DAC, preamplifier, MM phono input and a power stage delivering 2× 50 W into 8 Ω, so all you need to get the system playing is a set of speaker cables.

The Ace's digital section handles resolutions up to 32-bit/384 kHz, including DSD256 and MQA support, while networking is taken care of by the MiND 2 platform with Roon Ready, AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth aptX certification. A headphone amplifier and OLED display are also on board, so the unit covers streaming, turntable playback and headphone listening without any further components. Dimensions of 42.9 × 8.9 × 36.6 cm and a weight of 11 kg are in keeping with a compact yet solidly engineered device.

The Voice 22 speakers are two-way designs with a 29 mm soft dome tweeter and a 155 mm bass-midrange driver, complemented by CGD cabinet damping. A sensitivity of 89 dB at an impedance of 6 Ω presents a load the Ace handles without straining its power reserves in small to medium-sized rooms. The result is a stable soundstage, an articulate midrange and treble, and dynamics that exceed the physical size of the cabinets.

For large spaces with high levels and deep bass, floorstanding speakers and more power are the better choice; where speakers are already in place, the Ace on its own makes sense. The package contains the amplifier, a pair of Voice 22, the remote control, a power cable and documentation.
