The ELAC NAVA100 is a portable Bluetooth speaker designed for wireless listening at home and on the move. Sound is handled by a bespoke 3" full-range driver complemented by a pair of passive radiators, which delivers a surprisingly low bass reach from a compact enclosure. Wireless transmission is taken care of by Bluetooth 5.3, while Dual Play technology allows two units to be paired as a stereo pair.
The design is based on an all-aluminium cabinet — aluminium is used for the grille as well as the top and bottom sections, which adds to the rigidity of the body and suppresses unwanted resonances. Operation is handled by a metal control strip with TWS, Play, Vol-, Vol+ and Power buttons, with LEDs indicating charging and connection status. Power comes from a 7.4 V battery with two 18650 cells rated at 2500 mAh, while standby consumption does not exceed 10 mW. Measuring 150 × 78 × 128 mm, the speaker falls into the category of genuinely portable devices.
In terms of reproduction, the driver works with an impedance of 8 ohms, a sensitivity of 85 dB/W/1 m and an output of 10 W RMS at 1 % THD. The frequency range of 55 Hz to 19.6 kHz (-10 dB) together with a signal-to-noise ratio of 82 dB results in a balanced presentation with an intelligible midrange, which with a full-range driver and no crossover is reproduced coherently and without phase shifts. The passive radiators extend the low end without the need for a bass-reflex port.
Dual Play expands single-channel playback into a stereo pair — two NAVA100 units work together wirelessly and create a wider soundstage with better instrument localisation and greater depth. Setup requires no complicated configuration and works both indoors and outdoors.
