Mythology Transform X-Frame – modular rack with multi-stage ball-bearing isolation for effective resonance damping

The Mythology Transform X-Frame is a modular hi-fi rack of South Korean manufacture whose construction is subordinated from the ground up to broadband resonance damping. The key role is played by the multi-layer Swing technology, which deals with vibrations arising inside the system as well as those coming from outside. The components are CNC-machined to high precision, resulting in a stable steel-and-glass structure in which the shelves are optional according to the specific system.

The system works with multi-stage ball-bearing-based isolation at all connection points – between the floor and the stand, between the individual pillars, and between the brace and the component or shelf. The base is formed by the Anti Gravity element with triple swing technology and a special vibration-dispersing structure, while the lightened intermediate version for the four pillars is represented by the Spinal Shoes. The Perfect Point+ feet combine a simple swing with three layers of steel balls, while the Mythology V4 Spikes use four vertically arranged ceramic balls for rapid vibration drainage. The hollow pillars are additionally filled with a specialised material that increases internal damping.

The Transformer System extends practical versatility: the double-toothed Dual Gear mechanism allows components of various dimensions and shapes to be placed, and the Cantilever solution makes it possible to move the Perfect Point+ feet to the optimal position beneath the component's centre of gravity. Instead of the Perfect Point+, other feet from the manufacturer's range can also be used. The angle of the crossed X braces is adjustable too, so that the rack changes step by step into a wider and shallower or narrower and deeper form – the modular structure thus moves between different layouts without any intervention in the construction.

Thoroughly executed mechanical separation of components from surrounding vibrations is one of the underestimated factors of reproduction. Limiting the transfer of vibrations into the electronics and signal sources contributes to higher resolving power and linearity, which shows in more legible detail and a more stable soundstage. When running full-range speakers or a subwoofer, where considerable acoustic energy flows into the floor and furniture, comprehensive isolation becomes a necessity.
