Network Player MOON by Simaudio MiND 2 Black
Description
MiND 2 network player with software-defined architecture and control via the MOON MiND Controller app
MiND 2 (MOON intelligent Network Device) is a network player designed for streaming music from network storage as well as online services. The control centre of the unit is the dedicated MOON MiND Controller app for iOS and Android devices, which allows you to browse libraries, play tracks and control other components of the MOON system. The device is certified Roon Ready and supports Tidal Masters, Deezer Hi-Fi and Qobuz Sublime+.
The player's concept is built on a software-defined architecture, which simplifies future functionality updates. The integrated SimLink™ communication channel allows other MOON components to be linked and controlled together. Digital outputs include SPDIF, TosLink and AES/EBU, and a fully functional CRM-3 remote control is also provided. Dimensions of 17.8 × 7.6 × 28.0 cm and a weight of 3.1 kg place the device among compact components.
The player handles the lossless formats WAV, FLAC, FLAC HD, ALAC and MQA, the lossy formats AIF, AAC, MP3, WMA-9 and OGG Vorbis, as well as DSD files in DFF and DSF. Over a wired connection it supports sampling up to 32 bits/384 kHz, while the digital output is limited by the SPDIF format to 24 bits/192 kHz with optional resampling. DSD content is converted to DoP at the output, which requires a DAC with DoP-DSD support.
The playback queue function makes it possible to combine tracks from several libraries and services at once, for example from a NAS and streaming platforms. Synchronised multiroom playback is also supported, extending the player's use to multiple zones within a single home.
