Telos Audio Master Music Server – music server with a precision TCXO clock and dual-network architecture

The Master Music Server is the flagship music server from Telos Audio Design, designed for playback and management of a digital music collection with support for up to PCM 768 kHz / 32 bit and DSD512. Instead of correcting the signal after the fact, it tackles interference right at the source – the combination of a TCXO precision clock circuit (25 MHz) and a dual-network architecture separating the data and playback sections suppresses digital noise before it ever reaches the rest of the chain. The platform is built around a quad-core J6413 processor, 16 or 32 GB of memory and NVMe SSD storage.

The design is based on the Silent Angel digital server platform and employs a massive 6-sided CNC-machined aluminium chassis, which physically separates the power supply, signal and processor sections and suppresses mechanical resonances. The power supply architecture includes 160V high-capacity capacitors, custom transformers made from flat silicon steel and two-stage regulation with staged filtration, complemented by Duelund capacitors and AC noise suppression circuitry. Cooling is fanless, handled by large-area aluminium heat conductors, eliminating a source of both mechanical noise and vibration.

On the output side there is a second-generation USB Audio noise suppression circuit, supported by EMI-absorbing materials and power filtering modules. The result is a stable data stream to the DAC, a low noise floor, better resolution of micro-details and more precise localisation of instruments within the stereo image. The precision clock can be replaced by an external source via the 25 MHz Word Clock input on BNC, which further reduces jitter.

Connectivity covers two gigabit LAN ports for separated networks, one USB Audio output to a DAC, two USB 3.1 ports, one USB 2.0 and one USB-C. On the software side, the server supports Roon DSP with PCM to DSD256 conversion and officially certified MQA decoding, so it can serve as the central source of an entire digital system.
