The Master Active Cable (MAC) is an active power cable from Telos Audio Design, introduced in 2024, which works directly in the power path: while transferring power, it continuously monitors deviations in the mains phase and corrects them in anti-phase. At the same time it suppresses high-frequency interference and voltage spikes, lowering the noise floor. At its heart is an exclusive QNR module for phase correction, which compares the 50 or 60 Hz mains waveform and, by emitting an inverse signal, returns the distorted waveform to a sine shape.
The construction is based on a chassis of 6061 aerospace aluminium, CNC-milled and complemented by a multi-part low-resonance structure with 6-sided segmentation, which damps mechanical resonances of the enclosure and contributes to the integrity of power transfer. Inside works a Quantum resonance circuit, passive PF correction and a high-frequency anti-noise circuit that increases the efficiency of the power loop. The parts list includes custom Duelund capacitors from Denmark, precision chip resistors, graphene fuses and solder with a special formula; after automated assembly of the SMD boards, the joints are manually reinforced at temperatures matched to the individual components. Screw connections are tightened with an electronic torque screwdriver to ensure even pressure on the metal terminals and a stable line impedance.
Telos applies absolute conductor directionality – the live, neutral and protective earth conductors are all oriented in the same direction, as are the resistors and non-polarised capacitors in the modules. The lowered noise threshold brings out details that were previously masked: clearer transients, layering of the soundstage, more precise instrument outlines and stable localisation. In the bass region the texture of low and ultra-low frequencies emerges, and in the spatial domain the decay of reverb and a quieter background.
The MAC is available in two versions. The Ultra High Current model with an 8.0 mm² conductor, a recommended current of 33–38 A and 1400 V class capacitors is intended for power amplifiers, monoblocks, integrated and tube amplifiers or active subwoofers; it uses a four-point footer arrangement with dispersion into the room. The Standard version with a 5.5 mm² conductor, a recommended current of 25–28 A and 600 V class capacitors targets source components – music servers, streamers, DACs, CD transports, preamplifiers, clocks and network switches – and its three-point footer arrangement supports more precise imaging on the axis in front of the listener. Shared specifications: input 100–240 V / 50–60 Hz, maximum current 15 A, power at full load 1800 W, standby consumption 1 W, weight 15 kg. Two DC cables (1.92 m) with military-grade connectors and a Telos metal body are included.
