Macro Noise Reducer – an active X Series noise eliminator that turns interference into light energy

The Telos Macro Noise Reducer is a compact device for suppressing noise in the mains supply. It follows on from the classic QNR model and belongs to the 2021 X Series by Telos Audio Design. Its principle is based on a circuit that processes both resonance and noise and transforms interference into light energy, returning the signal in the streaming era to a cleaner, less noise-ridden foundation. Despite its small dimensions, it is conceived as a fully fledged compensation element of the system.

At the heart of the device is a processor identical to the one in the QNR, complemented by the 15th Anniversary module and a completely reworked circuit layout. The unit has its own energy-efficient power module that supplies the processor with stable power – and it is precisely the stability of the supply that enables more accurate compensation while significantly reducing the circuit footprint. The power module operates in the 100–240 V range, so it can be used in a variety of distribution grids.

The new X Series chassis is shaped around the letter X, and the priority of its construction is structural rigidity, which limits the influence of unwanted enclosure resonance frequencies on the resulting sound. The combination of a rigid chassis, the same logic chip base as in the QNR and a refined circuit layout contributes to a lower level of interference in the system, a calmer background and thus more legible detail from digital sources and streaming.

The Macro Noise Reducer is compatible with the classic QNR, so it can be deployed on its own or as a complement to an existing solution. The dimensions of the unit itself are 13.5 × 5.5 × 2.5 cm with a weight of 0.2 kg; the package measures 20.5 × 15 × 6.5 cm and weighs 0.6 kg. Delivery includes an IEC-60320 C7 / NEMA 1-15P power cable (1.8 m) including an adapter for the European region.
