Compact active grounding for digital streaming systems

The Telos Macro Grounding Noise is a compact device for active grounding of digital sources, bringing the technology of the flagship GNR series into a desktop-friendly format. It belongs to the 2024 X Series architecture, which develops the active grounding concept towards streaming systems. It is available in versions with a pair of USB Type A, HDMI or RJ45 interfaces, allowing two audio devices or network components with the respective connector to be connected.

The heart of the design is a CPU identical to that of the GNR model, generating a precise ground reference potential. Its stability is ensured by a specially developed energy-saving power module with a range of 100 – 120 V or 200 – 240 V, which makes the unit usable in various electrical grids. The solution also includes a module marking the brand's 15th anniversary and a refined circuit layout that significantly reduces the area of the signal loops.

Stable power delivery to the processor translates into a more precisely defined grounding reference point, which reduces the noise floor of the digital chain. The mechanically robust X Series chassis suppresses the influence of resonant frequencies on the resulting sound. In practice this is heard as a quieter background, more legible detail and more stable localisation of instruments during streaming playback.

The unit itself measures 13.5 x 5.5 x 2.5 cm and weighs 0.3 kg, so it can be placed right next to a network player or router. The accessories include a 1.8 m IEC-60320 C7 power cable, an adapter for the European region, and two each of RJ45, USB and HDMI connecting cables, 1.5 m in length.
