The StormAudio ISP Evo is an immersive audio processor designed for home cinema and multichannel music systems, combining the Elite model platform with the low-profile chassis of the Core 16 range and delivering 32-channel decoding and upmixing. It supports Dolby Atmos, Auro-3D, DTS:X, IMAX Enhanced, MPEG-H and 360 Reality Audio formats, is Roon Ready certified and handles multi-theater, multi-layout and multi-room configurations. The manufacturer describes it as the first purely digital immersive processor for home cinema.

This concept is reflected in its connectivity as well: instead of analogue outputs it offers digital AES/EBU outputs for up to 32 channels and AoIP (AES67/Dante) for up to 32 channels, complemented by a single Toslink optical output for a stereo downmix to Zone 2. The input side comprises AES/EBU for up to 16 channels, AoIP for up to 32 channels, six S/PDIF inputs (three optical and three coaxial), four analogue RCA inputs (7.1 or stereo) and one stereo XLR input. The video path is handled by seven HDMI 2.1 inputs and two outputs with ARC/eARC, HDCP 2.3, 40 Gbps bandwidth on all ports (4K UHD / 8K) and support for HDR10+, Dolby Vision and HLG. According to the manufacturer, the processor is also compatible with digital cinema processors playing DCP content.

Room correction is handled by Dirac Live with the Room Correction, Bass Control and Active Room Treatment modules, complemented by REW plugin support. Both standard and expert bass management cater for multi-way loudspeakers and multiple subwoofers, making it possible to even out low-frequency response and room decay. The result is more consistent bass reproduction, more stable localisation of audio objects and an even spatial rendering across individual listening positions.

Setup and control are provided by a web interface, the StormRemote app for tablet and smartphone, an IR remote control and a TCP/IP network connection with drivers for Control4, URC, Crestron, RTI, Savant and Nice (ELAN) systems. Measuring 442 × 402 × 133 mm and weighing 9 kg, it is a compact solution with a five-year warranty, recognised as a CES 2024 Innovation Awards Honoree.
