The LOEWE home.cinema set 531 is a preconfigured active home cinema in a 5.1.2 layout with support for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, complemented by the Atmos Virtual and Virtual X virtual modes. The heart of the package is the klang bar5 mr soundbar, which creates the height channels via reflections off the walls and ceiling, so a three-dimensional sound field arises without the need to install ceiling speakers. Total system power reaches 1160 W.
The set combines the soundbar, the sub5 subwoofer and discreet wireless active speakers for the surround channels. The subwoofer uses two 6-inch active drivers and four passive radiators, which makes it possible to achieve higher sound pressure at low frequencies while limiting the transfer of vibrations into the room structure. The surround modules also work as standalone multiroom speakers, so they can be used not only for films, but also for music streaming.
Connectivity is handled by HDMI eARC together with two HDMI inputs, an optical digital input, USB-A and Bluetooth. Integrated Wi-Fi opens access to the DTS Play-Fi, Google Chromecast and Apple AirPlay 2 streaming technologies, with support for Spotify Connect, TIDAL, Qobuz, Amazon Music HD, Napster and internet radio. Control runs through the app and the system can be integrated into an existing multiroom setup.
Dolby Atmos and DTS:X decoding combined with discrete surround channels contributes to precise localisation of sound objects and smooth movement of effects around the room. The separate subwoofer unburdens the soundbar's mid-bass region, which improves dialogue intelligibility and the dynamics of film scenes. The compact cabinets with acoustic fabric developed by Loewe have a minimalist design; the soundbar measures 1200 × 71 × 160 mm.
