The HiFi Stay Hardpoint Trynia is an anti-vibration isolation footer designed to eliminate micro-vibrations in high-end audio components and loudspeakers. Its construction is based on Newton's third law of motion and employs a dual rolling-disc system with upper and lower layers of ceramic balls, which responds to kinetic energy with a spherical pendulum movement. This is the top model of the Source Devices line, made in Korea, suited for CD transports and DACs, music servers, turntables, amplifiers, network drives, studio monitors, isolation transformers and AV receivers.
The metal body builds on Hardpoint technology, adopted from automotive engineering, where the term denotes optimised suspension mounting points. The curved profile of the dual rolling discs disperses vibrations transmitted by the internal oscillations of the device or loudspeaker, while Damped technology provides active damping of oscillation without suppressing dynamics. The upper section measures 54 mm in diameter, the lower one 60 mm, the height is 40 mm and the weight of a single piece is 134 g.
Precise levelling is handled by an integrated ring with a laser-engraved scale and a 0.5 mm thread pitch, allowing height correction in 0.05 mm increments with a total travel of up to 3 mm by turning clockwise. Load capacity reaches 30 kg per piece, so a set of four will support equipment weighing up to 120 kg, which exceeds the usual level in this category.
Draining micro-vibrations away from the component's chassis reduces the modulation distortion caused by resonance of the casework and circuit boards. In playback this translates into more legible detail, more stable instrument localisation and a calmer, more accurate presentation with dynamics fully preserved.
The South Korean brand HIFISTAY™ specialises in the development and manufacture of hi-fi audio accessories that suppress unwanted vibrations, thereby improving sound quality. Its founder and chief designer, Pyun Naiwon, started out modestly in 2002 – with a presser weight for vinyl records. From these humble beginnings, the company has grown into a business that now manufactures a complete range of anti-vibration solutions and protects its know-how with several patents. HIFISTAY’s philosophy is based on a simple realisation: sound quality is determined not only by the components themselves, but also by what they stand on. Vibrations from the floor, from the speakers and from the equipment itself can obscure details, narrow the soundstage and compromise the precision of the bass.
At the heart of the range are audio racks that utilise proprietary VHC™ (Vertical Horizon Vibration Control), X-Frame & Perfect Pointer™ and Anti-gravity™ technologies, designed to dampen vibrations in both vertical and horizontal directions. The range is complemented by mats and stands for components, spikes and spike pads, as well as weighted dampers, which can be used to fine-tune every element of the system – from turntables and sources through to amplifiers and speakers. You’ll appreciate HIFISTAY accessories whether you’re building a new system or want to extract even more clarity, tranquillity and musical precision from your current setup.
