The Stage III Concepts A.S.P. Ckahron is an ultra-premium analogue signal cable designed for line-level signal transfer, created to mark the brand's 25th anniversary. Together with the Cerberus speaker cables and Poseidon power cables, it completes the Final Reference Line series. The design is built around cryogenically treated ribbon conductors made of a silver and palladium alloy, complemented by proprietary dielectrics developed in-house. Technologically, the Ckahron draws on the Cerberus speaker cables, yet its geometry and material composition are fine-tuned specifically for low-level analogue signals.
The conductors are arranged in a triple double-helix configuration and housed in three separate vacuum dielectric chambers, which minimise the amount of solid material surrounding the conductor. Insulation is provided by virgin Teflon, while shielding relies on a multi-layer inner and outer structure resistant to radio-frequency and radiation interference. Mechanical damping is addressed with equal rigour – multi-layer damping and shielding layers suppress resonances transmitted through the cable structure, while the connector housings and the jacket are made from proprietary polymer and fibre composites.
The combination of an optimised conductor, vacuum dielectric and thorough electromagnetic as well as mechanical damping results in a low level of transmitted interference and an absence of audible artefacts. In practice this means a stable soundstage, precise localisation of instruments and clear resolution of low-level detail that would otherwise disappear into the noise floor. Despite its extensive layered construction, the cable retains surprisingly good flexibility, which simplifies installation in real-world systems.
Termination is handled by bespoke Hyperion RCA or XLR connectors made of a silver alloy, developed by the manufacturer. All signal-carrying elements undergo cryogenic treatment and the entire cable is built by hand exclusively from in-house components, with no mass-produced parts.
