The Stage III Concepts Cerberus Speaker Jumpers are a set of four speaker links designed to replace the stock metal plates on bi-wiring terminal blocks. Their construction is derived from the reference Cerberus speaker cable, so they use the same AeroStrand Ultra ribbon conductors made of a silver-palladium alloy and an identical shielding architecture. Instead of an improvised element in the signal path, the terminals gain a fully fledged conductive link with minimal contact resistance.
Each jumper contains 12 cryogenically treated silver/palladium ribbon conductors, run inside FEP Teflon air tubes that maintain a low effective dielectric constant. Shielding is two-stage: an inner H.D.A. (High Density Alloy) foil offering full immunity to external high-frequency radiation, and an outer multi-layer ASPIS shield made of silver-plated copper braid combined with conductive carbonised nylon. The jumpers are hand-built in lengths from 8 to 18 inches to suit the terminal spacing.
The ribbon conductor cross-section and the cryogenic treatment reduce the distortion and power limitations typical of supplied sheet-metal jumpers, which translates into cleaner transfer at the interface between the bass and treble sections of the crossover. The combination of the ASPIS shield and the H.D.A. foil cuts the influence of external interference in the immediate vicinity of the terminals.
