The Carbide Base Nano Diamond is an anti-vibration audio footer with a ball-bearing isolator that brings the manufacturer's proven isolation technology into the smallest possible form factor. The Diamond version employs diamond bearing races combined with the high-damping TwinDamp™ alloy, purposefully suppressing the transfer of mechanical vibration between the supporting surface and the audio component. Sold in sets of three or four pieces.
At the heart of the design is a ball bearing with extremely hard, low-friction races. The high surface hardness of the races keeps the point contact stable even under heavy loads, while the low friction allows free movement in the horizontal plane and thus drains energy away from the component. Each Nano footer supports up to 55 kg (121 lbs), covering even heavier source devices, amplifiers or loudspeakers.
The combination of hard races and damping alloy contributes to effective isolation across a wide frequency range. Limiting vibration transfer into the chassis and boards of the component reduces microphony, which in playback translates into a quieter background, better legibility of low-level detail and more stable imaging of instruments within the stereo stage.
The Nano can be fitted with optional carpet-piercing spikes or a screw set for direct mounting to loudspeakers or audio devices. Besides the Diamond version, the model is also available in a standard variant with sapphire bearing races.
Carbide Audio is an American manufacturer of high-end audio accessories based in Llano, Texas, near Austin. The brand was founded in 2019 by Jeff Jenkins, and its main products are anti-vibration pads for electronics, turntables and speakers, which isolate vibrations in both vertical and horizontal directions. Each pad combines a ViscoRing™ viscoelastic damping ring, which acts as a damped spring, with zirconium ball bearings on hardened steel tracks. Thanks to interchangeable rings for different weights, they can handle everything from lightweight sources to heavy speaker systems.
All products are designed, developed and manufactured in-house at the company’s own CNC production centre, ensuring full control over every detail. By combining advanced computer modelling with precision manufacturing, Carbide Audio is pushing the boundaries of vibration control in hi-fi systems. The development process – from concept, simulation and prototyping through to measurement and critical listening – reflects a strong commitment to innovation and uncompromising engineering. From proprietary aluminium profiles with a fine-grained structure to carefully selected materials, every component is chosen for maximum durability and performance. Every product undergoes multiple development cycles and rigorous testing before reaching customers worldwide. Thanks to a network of international distributors, Carbide Audio offers not only cutting-edge products but also reliable support.
