The Hifistay Ballerino 88 Triple Swing is an anti-vibration foot designed for the mechanical isolation of heavy audio components, large loudspeakers and audio racks. It belongs to the Ballerino line from the Korean brand Hifistay, alongside the Ballerino 80 and Ballerino 130 models, and compared with the Single Swing and Double Swing versions it brings a refined construction with higher damping efficiency under high static loads. A single piece supports up to 120 kg and measures 88 mm in diameter.
The load-bearing section consists of a three-layer construction with height adjustable from 34 to 46 mm, allowing precise levelling of the device even on an uneven surface. Vibrations transmitted by loudspeaker spikes are controlled by a combination of a silicone wire and a ceramic ball, while the dual three-point ceramic ball structure provides isolation in the horizontal plane and an even distribution of load between the layers.
All parts are CNC machined from non-magnetic duralumin with an anodised finish. The choice of a non-magnetic material eliminates interaction with the magnetic circuits of drivers and transformers, while anodising increases surface durability and the hardness of the contact areas. The result is a rigid, mechanically stable element with properties that remain unchanged over the long term.
Draining and dissipating resonant energy from the component's chassis reduces microphonic smearing of the signal. In practice this contributes to better legibility of low-level detail, more stable localisation of instruments within the stereo image and a quieter recording background. With heavy amplifiers and large speaker systems, bass definition also improves thanks to the solid mechanical anchoring.
The South Korean brand HIFISTAY™ specialises in the development and manufacture of hi-fi audio accessories that suppress unwanted vibrations, thereby improving sound quality. Its founder and chief designer, Pyun Naiwon, started out modestly in 2002 – with a presser weight for vinyl records. From these humble beginnings, the company has grown into a business that now manufactures a complete range of anti-vibration solutions and protects its know-how with several patents. HIFISTAY’s philosophy is based on a simple realisation: sound quality is determined not only by the components themselves, but also by what they stand on. Vibrations from the floor, from the speakers and from the equipment itself can obscure details, narrow the soundstage and compromise the precision of the bass.
At the heart of the range are audio racks that utilise proprietary VHC™ (Vertical Horizon Vibration Control), X-Frame & Perfect Pointer™ and Anti-gravity™ technologies, designed to dampen vibrations in both vertical and horizontal directions. The range is complemented by mats and stands for components, spikes and spike pads, as well as weighted dampers, which can be used to fine-tune every element of the system – from turntables and sources through to amplifiers and speakers. You’ll appreciate HIFISTAY accessories whether you’re building a new system or want to extract even more clarity, tranquillity and musical precision from your current setup.
