The HiFi Stay Spike Base is an anti-vibration spike base designed to control and eliminate vibrations and resonances transmitted between an audio component and the floor. The structure is CNC-machined from duralumin with a hard-anodised finish and uses exclusively non-magnetic materials, preventing unwanted magnetic field interaction near sensitive circuitry. The adjustable height allows precise levelling of the equipment even on an uneven surface.
The damping system combines a silicone strip with a dual 3-point structure using ceramic ball bearings. The silicone layer absorbs the primary vibrations arriving from the spike, while the ball bearings allow microscopic movement in the horizontal plane and at the same time distribute the load evenly. This solution is typical of Hifistay anti-vibration accessories and forms the basis of the Ballerino series, where the same principle is used across all models.
Decoupling the component from the floor reduces the feedback of mechanical vibrations into transport mechanisms, transformers and printed circuit boards. The result is a lower degree of microphonics, a more stable rendering of the bass region and better intelligibility of detail in quieter passages. The base does not take part in signal reproduction directly, yet it contributes to the mechanical stability of the system and thus to a more accurate result.
Hifistay is a Korean brand specialising in vibration control in audio systems, with almost two decades of experience in developing anti-vibration solutions. The Spike Base is suitable under CD transports and DACs, turntables, music servers, amplifiers, power supplies, bookshelf speakers and audio racks.
