The Hifistay Ballerino 130 Triple Swing is an anti-vibration footer designed to eliminate vibrations and resonances beneath loudspeakers, amplifiers and audio racks. The design combines a dual three-point ceramic ball structure with a radially structured silicone band that damps vibrations in all directions. With a diameter of 130 mm, it is the largest model in the Ballerino Triple Swing line, supplied as a set of 8 pieces.
The body is CNC-machined from duralumin with a hard anodised finish and made exclusively from non-magnetic materials, which rules out any interaction with the magnetic circuits of your components. The height is adjustable at the base from 37 to 44 mm, allowing precise levelling even on uneven surfaces. Each piece supports a load of up to 160 kg, and the three-point seating distributes the weight evenly.
The damping principle is based on a spherical pendulum with ceramic bearings, which responds to external forces and converts them into motion that is progressively damped by the silicone element. The tension of the silicone band can be matched to the weight of the specific device. Inside are vibration-absorbing particles that dissipate the residual energy.
Decoupling the component from the supporting surface reduces the transmission of structure-borne vibrations back into transducers and circuits. The result is less smearing of microdetail, more stable imaging of instruments within the stereo stage and a more legible bass register. Production draws on more than 30 years of experience in precision metalworking for optical instruments.
The South Korean brand HIFISTAY™ specialises in the development and manufacture of hi-fi audio accessories that suppress unwanted vibrations, thereby improving sound quality. Its founder and chief designer, Pyun Naiwon, started out modestly in 2002 – with a presser weight for vinyl records. From these humble beginnings, the company has grown into a business that now manufactures a complete range of anti-vibration solutions and protects its know-how with several patents. HIFISTAY’s philosophy is based on a simple realisation: sound quality is determined not only by the components themselves, but also by what they stand on. Vibrations from the floor, from the speakers and from the equipment itself can obscure details, narrow the soundstage and compromise the precision of the bass.
At the heart of the range are audio racks that utilise proprietary VHC™ (Vertical Horizon Vibration Control), X-Frame & Perfect Pointer™ and Anti-gravity™ technologies, designed to dampen vibrations in both vertical and horizontal directions. The range is complemented by mats and stands for components, spikes and spike pads, as well as weighted dampers, which can be used to fine-tune every element of the system – from turntables and sources through to amplifiers and speakers. You’ll appreciate HIFISTAY accessories whether you’re building a new system or want to extract even more clarity, tranquillity and musical precision from your current setup.
