Akasa DC Reference Cable – linking WADAX external power supplies to the Reference DAC or Server without injecting noise

The Akasa DC Reference Cable is a DC power cable designed to carry direct current between WADAX external power supplies and the Reference DAC or Server. Its task is twofold: to preserve the extraordinarily low noise floor the power supply delivers, and at the same time to prevent ambient noise from entering the power path during transmission. This is precisely where the theoretical simplicity of transmitting DC parts ways with practice, because the development of WADAX power supplies has pushed noise levels below the measurement threshold of even the finest instruments, revealing previously unsuspected distortion mechanisms and new sources of interference.

The construction is based on rigorously selected materials. The conductor is a latest-generation long-crystal silver-gold alloy that provides maximum conductivity and a minimum of voids, impurities and discontinuities within the conductor itself, reducing the risk of self-generated, internal noise. It is complemented by a specific metallurgy that improves the consistency of the crystal lattice, in other words the uniformity of the medium through which the current travels.

The conductor gauge, the lay of the stranded bundles, the insulating materials and the number of layers are all calculated to limit external interference, both electromagnetically induced and mechanically transmitted. The same principle underlies the specially designed connector with layered materials and critical damping, which eliminates mechanical interference and increases the mechanical stability of the connection.

The result is power that reaches the audio circuits of the Reference DAC or Server with minimal contamination. A lower noise floor in the power path shows up in the legibility of low-level detail and the stability of the soundstage – in other words, in what remains audible even when the noise itself is no longer measurable.
