The conductors are insulated by an air dielectric using PTFE Teflon air tubes, minimising the amount of solid material in the immediate vicinity of the conductor. The geometry employs individual shielding of each conductor, including the ground conductor, complemented by shielding layers of metallised copper braid and conductive carbonised nylon. This arrangement suppresses the ingress of high-frequency noise into the power line and limits its propagation between components.
Termination is handled by the exclusive HYPERION Ceramic IEC connector and mains plug, both cryogenically treated, with carbon-fibre bodies, electrical contacts made of a silver-copper alloy with palladium plating, and insulators of ceramic-filled polymer. The combination of rigid materials and low contact resistance contributes to a stable connection and limits mechanical resonances at the connector interface.
The lower noise floor and thorough shielding translate into a quieter background, more legible detail and more precise localisation of instruments within the stereo image. The 20 A current rating allows use even with power amplifiers that draw high peak currents.
