MEZE AUDIO 99 NEO is a set of closed-back supra-aural headphones for audiophiles complemented by a detachable condenser Boom Mic, intended both for listening to music and for communication while gaming or working from home. An impedance of 26 Ω and sensitivity of 103 dB allow full drive from a mobile device, a laptop or a portable headphone amplifier without the need for high output voltage.
The construction follows the approach of the Classics series: cast zinc alloy hardware with electroplated finish, a headband of stamped manganese spring steel and earpads with memory foam covered in soft PU leather. The self-adjusting headband distributes clamping force evenly across different head sizes, reducing pressure points during longer listening sessions. The entire construction is designed to be disassembled and repaired — individual parts can be replaced, including the detachable cabling connected via a 3.5 mm jack.
The closed acoustic chamber combined with medium-density foam earpads provides passive sound isolation that reduces the influence of ambient noise, thereby improving the legibility of quiet passages and the stability of the stereo image. The frequency range of 15 – 25,000 Hz covers the entire audible band with headroom at the extremes; the resulting presentation is natural and balanced, without forcibly emphasised bass or sharp treble. The detachable boom microphone can be attached only when needed, so the headphones remain in a purely musical configuration without superfluous elements.
