The Burmester 216 Power Amplifier seamlessly joins the brand’s award-winning power amp legacy, pairing impressive performance, lighting-fast timing, and effortless dynamic headroom with a spacious soundstage and musical warmth. Borrowing its clean, screwless chassis aesthetic directly from the flagship 159 monoblocks, the 216 features a fully symmetrical architecture built on Burmester’s proprietary Class-A X-Amp input stages and a continuously DC-coupled signal path free of sound-distorting capacitors. Supported by an ultra-stable power supply with massive current reserves and a high, frequency-stable damping factor, it effortlessly drives speakers with complex loads and low-impedance dips without compression. Handcrafted in Berlin to strict military-grade tolerances and available in a bridged mono configuration, the Burmester 216 provides a transparent, deeply engaging, and beautifully layered analogue presentation.

The German company Burmester Audiosysteme GmbH, founded in Berlin in 1977 by Dieter Burmester, sets the global benchmark for high-end audio technology. To this day, it remains an independent family-run business that combines uncompromising engineering, handcrafted production at its Berlin workshop and an unmistakable design featuring chrome front panels. It has a long history of firsts – from the world’s first modular preamplifier to the first belt-driven CD player. In 2005, it became the first high-end manufacturer to enter the automotive world, and today its sound can be heard in Porsche, Mercedes-Benz and Ferrari cars.
Its product range includes pre-amplifiers and power amplifiers, phono pre-amplifiers, CD and network players, turntables, mains conditioners and loudspeaker systems. More than 95 per cent of the components come from German manufacturers, and every unit undergoes a seven-day burn-in period before dispatch, involving more than 300 computerised measurements and a final listening test. Burmester products are designed to last for decades – they are reliable, repairable and ready for future upgrades.
