Why choose Stage III Concepts?
Every wire will inevitably change an audio stream in some way. A signal cannot go through a conductor without encountering some kind of interference from the substance it is passing through. A copper wire sounds different than cables composed of silver, tin, brass, gold, or aluminum, therefore we know this to be accurate just by experience. It is also known that cables with varying gauge thicknesses and shapes produce distinct sounds. 

To get optimal performance, the variables that affect the audio signal can be reduced and adjusted, keeping the audio signal's integrity as near to the original as feasible. Performance and sound of an audio cable are primarily determined by three factors: resistance (also known as impedance), inductance, and capacitance. By carefully selecting a cable's conductor type, dielectric (insulation), spacing, shape, and shielding, these factors may be exactly balanced. The technology, strategies, and parts used by Stage III Concepts to achieve Perfect Fidelity—the elusive objective that all audio aficionados strive for—are briefly explained here.
When the electrons in a material are freed from their molecules, a conductor transmits current. A material's conductivity increases with its ability to contribute more electrons to the flow of current through it. For instance, copper has 29 electrons that are "available" for the transfer of electrical energy, making it an excellent conductor. Because of its atomic structure, which allows for the availability of 47 electrons, silver has a very high conductivity and is an excellent carrier of audio signals. 

After many years of research, Stage III Concepts has developed their exclusive AeroStrandTM conductor technology. The use of a true air dielectric is made possible by these pure silver wires with a flat core. AeroStrandTM conductors are impervious to the distortions caused by the skin effect because of a flat wire's low cross-sectional mass and increased conductor surface area, which also exhibit more desirable impedance characteristics and permit transmission of all frequencies with perfect uniformity.
They use a unique ultra-slow, temperature- controlled wire extrusion method to create their AeroStrandTM conductors, which are only available for Stage III Concepts. By using this process, the tensions and crystal grain boundaries in the metal that result from out-of- phase solidification during manufacture are reduced. A computer-controlled cryogenic treatment is used to remove any leftover naturally occurring crystals and faults in the molecular pattern. This process involves maintaining a temperature of -190°C (-300°F) for around 48 hours. The metal's atomic structure becomes denser and more aligned as a result of this process, increasing conductivity and creating a totally homogeneous, non- directional internal composition for the wire. The cryogenic tempering procedure is applied to all connections and terminations made by Stage III Concepts. The financial and time savings of this technique are substantial, but the sound quality is well worth it.
One of the primary goals of designing a high- performance cable for audio transmission is to ensure that distortions—especially those caused by the cable itself—do not impair the cable's performance. Any substance that is applied to the surface of an electrical conductor has the potential to distort audio signals. For instance, because each of these materials interacts with the signal, an audio cable with conductors sheathed in rubber, plastic, or Teflon will sound different. A conductor should ideally be shaped to minimize any physical contact with the dielectric or sheathing structure. For best results, the conductor should avoid coming into contact with the sheathing material, but this is extremely difficult to accomplish. The optimal electrical conductor is always one that is uninsulated, or "floating." Utilizing their unique AeroStrandTM conductor technology, all Stage III Concepts cables keep the pure silver wires in contact with nothing but air. The area of an AeroStrandTM wire in contact with the insulating tube is less than 3%! 

Furthermore, corrosion is unimportant. The conductors of AeroStrandTM are hermetically sealed and do not come into contact with outside air or moisture. AeroStrandTM conductors' spiral winding also gives them a great deal of flexibility, making cable installation simple. Their special conductors already have a significant advantage over regular wire in most cases.
According to Stage III Concepts, it is preferable to prevent airborne electromagnetic interferences from ever entering a cable as opposed to attempting to filter or eliminate them once they have ingested into the signal. Positive and negative conductor twisted pair windings have shown to be highly successful in rejecting induced noise. Their audio cable line makes extensive use of this wire geometry, even in multi-conductor designs where groups of plus/minus twisted pairs create exceptionally quiet cables (even in unshielded designs).
Any interference that could cause distortion is nearly impossible to pass through Stage III's exclusive 3-level TriSilencerTM shield and reach the cable's conductors. The A.S.P. Reference series from Stage III Concepts uses their unique H.D.A. shielding for total immunity to EMI/RF interference, making these cables practically impervious to radiation intrusions of any kind. High Density Alloy, or H.D.A., is a special type of solid foil that was created with the express purpose of shielding delicate military and medical equipment and cabling from outside electromagnetic interference. Around the H.D.A. layer, nickel-plated copper braid adds an extra layer of EMI/RF shielding and helps shield sensitive internal components from abrupt bends. They never use the shield as a signal-carrying element in their shielded cable designs. Every shield has a passive, "floating" design.
Proper termination of any audio interface is necessary to maintain the best possible signal integrity as the signal enters and exits a cable, even with the most advanced cable technologies. Signal degradation is frequently caused by the termination of the cable at the connector, particularly when solder and other types of heat-stressed connections are involved. Stage III Concepts tested the majority of high-quality connectors on the market for many years, but they were not satisfied with the measured performance, particularly when it came to signal losses, distortion, and unfavorable contributions to the audio signal. They now produce their own connectors as a result, which is an uncommon and costly investment for a cable manufacturer. The resulting Hyperion connectors are superior to all others in terms of lossless signal transmission. 

The metal is heated, cryotreated, and slowly extruded—rather than mould cast—to create a more uniform metal structure that precisely complements the conductive qualities of AeroStrandTM wire. All speaker cables come with banana terminations, which are made of thick, solid copper that has been plated with pure silver.
The A.S.P. Reference line, which stands for "Absolute Signal Purity" and combines all the technologies that produce the best performance, is the highest point in the Stage III Concepts range. The Proteus, Leviathan, Kraken, and Triton power cables; Gorgon interconnects; Chimaera digital cables; Xphynx USB cables; Analord Master phono cables; and Reference Medusa speaker cables are the models that are a part of the A.S.P. 
series. 

Removing the majority of the air from the AeroStrandTM tubes allows for an even greater performance improvement in the A.S.P. Reference line. An almost perfect dielectric is reached in this nearly vacuum environment, further reducing the possibility of distortion. AeroStrandTM conductors are among the most accurate and effective audio signal conductors on the market because each one is individually insulated with a minimized-wall PTFE, PET, or FEP Teflon® air-tube, further reducing the likelihood of capacitive effects or strand interaction. 

Aerostrand Ultra conductors, made of a specially formulated alloy of silver (Ag) and palladium (Pd), are utilized in the A.S.P. Reference line. While not the finest electrical conductor, palladium has an exceptionally low susceptibility to electromagnetic influences that may compromise precise signal transfer. For optimal sonic purity, use an Ag/Pd conductor that has been meticulously designed. The audio presentation is described by users as effortless, believable, musical, natural, and "real."
Luis de la Fuente painstakingly crafts each cable by hand using the best materials, components, and processes available.
